Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Gallry collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to photographers who hold Gallry accounts and to clients who view galleries that photographers share.
01Information we collect
Account information. When you create a Gallry account we collect your email address, username, and an optional studio or display name. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash — we never store or see your plaintext password.
Content you upload. We store the photographs and gallery details (titles, descriptions, cover settings, watermarks, and optional passwords) that you add to your galleries.
Client activity. When your clients open a shared gallery, we process the minimum needed to deliver and protect it — for example, verifying a gallery password and recording favorites or downloads where you have enabled them. Clients do not create accounts.
Technical data. Like most web services, our servers receive standard request information such as IP address and browser type, and we use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in.
02How we use information
We use the information above to operate Gallry: to authenticate you, host and serve your galleries, apply your watermark and display preferences, enforce storage limits, provide support, and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the photographs you upload to train models or for advertising.
03Storage and processing
Your account data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database, and your photographs are stored in S3-compatible object storage. We generate resized and watermarked derivatives of your images so galleries load quickly; originals are kept private and served only through authenticated or password-protected links.
We rely on reputable infrastructure providers to host this data on our behalf, and we require them to safeguard it.
04Cookies and sessions
We use a single httpOnly session cookie to keep photographers signed in and to remember when a visitor has unlocked a password-protected gallery. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
05Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual photos or entire galleries at any time from your dashboard.
Deleting your account removes your profile, galleries, and photographs, including the associated stored objects. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered. Backups and logs may persist for a short period before they expire.
06Photographers and their clients
Gallry is a tool for photographers. If you are a photographer, you are responsible for the photographs you upload and for having the rights and any necessary consents to share them with your clients.
If you are a client viewing a gallery, the photographer who created it is the controller of those images. Please contact them directly with requests about your photographs; we will assist photographers in honoring such requests. Photographers can export a copy of a client’s selection data, or permanently erase a client’s name, email, and favorites, from the gallery’s Insights tab.
07Your choices
You can review and update your account details, password, and watermark in Settings, and you can export your photographs by downloading them from your galleries at any time.
If you would like help with a privacy request, contact us using the details below.
08Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
